In June I had a name, an idea and no website. By the end of one long day I had a live site at ainofluff.co.uk, four digital products on sale and a month of Instagram posts ready to go out.
I've never done a coding course. I typed what I wanted into Claude, copied what it gave me and fixed whatever broke. You're reading the result.
The starting point
I had the name ainofluff and a plan: explain AI to people who haven't tried it yet. I also had a Claude Pro subscription and a free GitHub account. Nothing else. No designer, no developer, no clue what DNS meant.
The build, in order
-
The websiteI described the site I wanted: dark header, teal accents, two fonts, a grid of posts. Claude wrote the page as one HTML file. I pasted it into GitHub, and GitHub Pages put it online for free. No website builder, no monthly fee.
-
The domainSomebody already owned ainofluff.com, so I bought ainofluff.co.uk from Namecheap. Pointing it at the site meant adding four "A records" and one "CNAME record" in the settings. I had no idea what those were. Claude told me which boxes to fill in and what to type in each one.
-
The productsA prompt pack, caption templates, a content planner and a bundle of all three. Claude built the PDFs and spreadsheets, designed the cover images and wrote the product descriptions. I checked each one, asked for changes and uploaded them to Gumroad.
-
InstagramClaude designed the carousel slides and wrote the captions. I picked a profile picture from three options and scheduled a month of posts.
The prompt that did the heavy lifting
A prompt like this one built the homepage:
Copy and change this
I'm building a website for ainofluff, a brand that explains AI in plain English to people who haven't tried it. Make me a single HTML file for the homepage. Use these colours: dark #0F1117, teal #1D9E75, off-white #F5F5F0. Use Space Grotesk for headings and Inter for body text. Include a big headline at the top, a grid of blog posts and an email sign-up box. No frameworks. It needs to work on GitHub Pages.
Every detail in there saves a round of corrections. Leave out the colours and you get Claude's colours. Leave out GitHub Pages and you might get code that won't run there. Swap in your business, your colours and your sections, and you have a starting point for your own site.
Four things that broke
-
The Buy buttons went nowhere
The first shop page went live with placeholder links. Anyone clicking Buy got nothing. Fix: I swapped in the real Gumroad links and uploaded the page again.
-
The shop disappeared from the menu
The live homepage had no link to the shop at all. Fix: Claude rebuilt the homepage file with the link in place.
-
Instagram refused to connect
I'd set the account up through my personal Facebook, and Meta Business Suite wouldn't schedule posts from it. Fix: I made a separate Facebook Page for ainofluff and linked Instagram to that.
-
The spreadsheet looked squashed
The content planner's rows came out cramped in Google Sheets. Fix: a few rounds of "row 28 is still squashed" until it looked right.
None of these needed coding knowledge. Each one needed me to spot the problem, describe it in plain words and paste in the fix.
The running costs
GitHub hosts the site for nothing. Gumroad charges nothing upfront and takes a cut when something sells. That leaves two bills: the domain once a year and my Claude Pro subscription every month.
Your turn
Pick one small thing you'd build if you knew how. A one-page site for your business. A price list. A spreadsheet that does your sums for you. Describe it to Claude or ChatGPT in as much detail as the prompt above. Then fix what breaks, one problem at a time.
Stuck on the first prompt? The AI Prompt Starter Pack has 60 you can copy and change.
